Once enrolled in the Program, excess property may be obtained from a DOD Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO) or a Recycling Control Point (RCP). Law enforcement agencies (LEAs) can screen/search property electronically by using the DLA Disposition Services (DS) web server at https://www.drms.dla.mil/leso/SearchEngineWrapper?type=LesoHome .
For step by step instructions on how to screen/search for property on-line, refer to the “LEAs Automation Training Guide.” Go to https://www.drms.dla.mil/; click on “Property Search for Military, Federal, State and Special Programs”; then click on “Law Enforcement Support Office (LESO)”. On the left side menu click on “Links,” then click on “Training/Assistance,” and then click on “LEAs Automation Training Guides.
LEAs can also physically screen at DRMOs. Currently Fort Drum, located in Watertown, NY, is the only operating DRMO in New York State. Other DRMOs are located in surrounding states and across the United States. Go to https://www.drms.dla.mil/drmo/drmo-locations.shtml for DRMO locations.
PLEASE NOTE: Property is provided to NYLEAs free of charge except for the cost of shipping or pick-up of property. However, LEAs will be responsible for associated costs to meet Department of Defense (DOD) requirements for the disposal or turn-in of property. NYLEAs should factor in these requirements and associated costs when determining the need for property. All property transferred from the DOD to NYLEAs, unless title is conditionally granted, remain the property of the DOD.
*LEAs can order property electronically during the Reutilization and RTD2 Cycles only.
Once the property has moved out of the RTD2 cycle the property is no longer available.
