The DMV Photo System provides law enforcement with direct electronic access to the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles’ database of digitized driver photo images. During the initial deployment, DMV Photo System will be available to NYSP, NYPD, the 17 primary Operation IMPACT police departments and all police departments that actively participate in TraCS.
To participate in DMV Photo System your department must complete the application, execute the User Agreement and register your Photo Access Coordinators. The application process, as well as the rules governing use of DMV Photo System is described in the “DMV Photo System Policies and Procedures Manual”. Please read the Manual carefully. It will help answer many of your questions and insure that your department complies with the rules governing DMV Photo System participation.
